Working with Children Checks and Police Checks are vital screening programs designed to ensure child-safe environments, particularly in volunteer and employment settings. These checks are mandatory in most Australian states and territories for adults and volunteers who come into contact with children. Who Needs a Working with Children Check?
In areas of Australia where it is required, individuals who need a Working with Children Check include:
- Youth Combat Marshals and Youth Rapier Marshals
- Youth Mentors for the Youth and Family Activity Program
- Individuals running children’s classes or activities (not associated with the above programs)
